ABOUT US

I grew up on my grandparents’ tobacco farm on the outskirts of Stoneville in Rockingham County, North Carolina. Stoneville was (and still is) a 3-stoplight town. My community, which I lovingly refer to as “the suburbs of Stoneville,” is named Shiloh. It is a place where everyone knew and helped each other regardless of skin color or affluency. A place where the community activities revolved around the church or the volunteer fire department. My Sundays were always for church, then fried chicken at Grandma’s.
My grandfather passed away suddenly when I was five years old, and from that time forward, my grandma instilled in me a strong faith and the promise of Heaven. Shiloh Community also reinforced my faith, helping my brother and me cope with the loss of our mother in 1989 and our father in 2023.
Small towns and communities like Shiloh are on the verge of extinction. The influence of this small town and community is deeply rooted in my soul. My heart longs to be back there, with my family and lifelong friends. The name “Shiloh Roots” was born to help me focus and to be the modality to make my dream of getting back to my roots and a simpler way of life a reality. It is our prayer that this will be a successful venture so that we may also help others, as we have been helped. Back to our roots.
